Art in the Park
Interactive, fun opportunity for kids to both learn about and create art at Heckscher Park in the Town of Huntington.
A wonderful opportunity for the children in our Town is taking place this summer at Heckscher Park. Through the collaboration of The Heckscher Museum and the Huntington Arts Council a series of special events has been planned that will alternately teach and entertain children about art. On Tuesday nights, the Huntington Arts Council will present various family events (as part of their Summer Arts Festival) on the Harry Chapin Rainbow Stage in the park. On three of those evenings free educational activities are planned to allow children to both learn and create. The museum’s Discovery Nights programs will start at 6 pm on those Tuesdays at the museum and will be immediately followed by the events in the park. The schedule of events is as follows: Tuesday, July 11: Portrait Fans; Tuesday, July 18: Camera Creations; Tuesday, July 25: Metallic Mobiles
